Happy Memorial Day!
I want to first start off by saying currently I have no military in my family, but I do have past military! I support the men and women who fight for us! BBQ’s, great sales, and the first day of summer is awesome but Memorial Day means a little something more.
(Brittany Jacobs of Hereford, NC, hugs her 17-month old son Christian at her husband, Marine SGT Christopher Jacobs’ gravesite in Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day at in Arlington, VA, on 28 May 28, 2012.)
It is the day to Celebrate those who had given their lives for our freedom! Please know that Veteran’s Day is not the same thing. Veterans Day is celebrating those who are still living.
Those men and women leave behind the people who care about them most. Mothers, Fathers, Sisters, Brothers, Wifes, Husbands, and their children. Those spouses have to be strong for their families. As a mother to a beautiful little 8 year old I couldn’t imagine life without her father. He is our rock. I know I don’t thank enough for everything that he does. I will try to work on that.
So enjoy your shopping sprees..
Enjoy your BBQs
But please take a minute out of your day to give a little thought to those who have died. If not for them you would not be shopping or grilling!
